Oyo fujairah UAE weekend getaway staycation review

Fujairah has always been the best weekend getaway spot for the UAE dwellers as the rocky mountains look so appealing in front of the desert and beaches. Fujairah is one of the seven emirates in the United Arab Emirates and is a very nice quiet place. A great spot for the adventurers as they can do parasailing, boating, camping, etc. There are multiple hotel options if one plans to stay overnight.

OYO Fujairah property is called Clifton hotel and we had booked it using the OYO app and bagged a great deal.

The hotel is Clifton hotel and is branded by OYO.

The OYO Clifton hotel is situated near other famous hotels, and very close to the Sheikh Zayed grand mosque Fujairah. The Fujairah mall is about 5 min away too. On GPS, one can easily locate it on Sheikh Hamad Bin Abdullah Street, Fujairah, United Arab Emirates.

This property has 156 rooms and suites and has all-day dining Restaurant that also serves buffet breakfast. There is a Bar located on the same floor as the restaurant.

We checked in at around 6 pm after traveling from Abu Dhabi hoping for a great weekend escape. The road trip of 3 hours with a small kid made us tired too.

Our check-in was smooth and with just small baggage, we were handed over the keys to our room on the 9th floor.

The lobby of the hotel is very clean and very beautifully decorated.

The historic touch to the lobby added to the experience. The front office staff briefed us about the amenities and restaurants in house.

The breakfast is served in the buffet restaurant at level 1 from 6:30 am till 10:30 am for AEd 25 per person.

Room

We stayed in the deluxe room and the entrance is a bit dark. Upon entering the room, it looked nice with dim light.

The room is good for a couple or a family with a small kid who can co-share the bed.

The mini bar was empty and tea caddy was provided with two bottles of packaged water.

Television had a few channels and we couldn’t understand most of the channels without subtitles.

The wi-fi was given complimentary and could be used in the guest room easily.

The room had a view of other buildings but it was still OK.

Mattress and pillow were quite clean and comfortable.

Restaurant

There are many clubs and a bar and a coffee shop that serves buffet breakfast too.

We had a hearty breakfast here and it was good.

The room service menu is available in the guest rooms for in-room dining.

Local information

The hotel is quite conveniently located near the Fujairah Mall.

The site seeing can be done depending on the weather, we had missed many good sites due to the humid weather.

There are wadis where tourists can do camping during winters.

It is connected to Sharjah Border called Khor al Fakkan famous for dams, beaches, splendid views, and speed boats.

Fujairah castle is around 10 minutes drive from the hotel and it is the oldest and the largest castle in the country dated back to the 16th century.

Masafi town is a treat for the eyes as it is surrounded by the wadi and has an underground water system. The Masafi water is supplied all over the Emirates as packaged drinking water. The daily Friday market is famous for great bargains and great stuff like handmade artifacts, carpets, utensils, wooden stuff, and fresh fruits and vegetables.

Once you cross this, you will see sand dunes and a vast never ending desert.

Enjoy the insiders pics of the hotel :

The hotel is a great find for the mid-class accommodation and can be booked through the OYO app easily.
